Accident Overview
On December 30, 2018, at approximately 0230 universal time, an Agusta A119 helicopter registered as RA-01908 impacted terrain under unknown circumstances. The accident occurred about 12 miles from Ulan-Ude, in the Republic of Buryatia, Russia. The pilot and three passengers sustained fatal injuries.
Investigation
The Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) of Russia is leading the investigation into the accident. As the state of manufacture for some of the helicopter's avionics, the United States National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has designated a U.S. accredited representative to assist the IAC. All inquiries concerning this accident should be directed to the IAC of Russia.
