What happened
During an agricultural mission in Băleni, the crew was engaged in applying insecticides to various fields. While transitioning between two separate areas for spraying, the aircraft flew at a very low altitude over a roadway. During this maneuver, the airplane collided with the roof of a truck traveling on the road.
Following the impact, the aircraft lost control and performed a crash-landing in an adjacent field. The impact was followed by a post-crash fire that consumed the wreckage. Both pilots sustained injuries, and the aircraft was completely destroyed by the flames.
Findings
Investigations into the accident determined that the primary factor was a loss of control resulting from the mid-air collision with the vehicle. The crew was operating at an extremely low height, approximately three meters above the ground, and failed to identify the presence of traffic on the road during the flight phase.
