What happened
On January 9, 2019, at approximately 1215 UTC, a Piper PA-28-201 Arrow III, registered G-OARI, crashed into mountainous terrain near Regil, Guipuzcoa, Spain.
The aircraft was performing a non-scheduled, personal cross-country flight from Cascais Municipal Aerodrome (LPCS) in Portugal to San Sebastian Airport (LESO) in Spain. At the time of the accident, the aircraft was operating under instrument meteorological conditions.
The impact resulted in 2 fatalities and the total destruction of the airplane.
