Accident Details
A student pilot was conducting his first solo flight in the traffic pattern. During the landing, as the airplane touched down, its nose was pointed to the left of the runway centerline. The airplane then bounced.
Pilot Report
The student pilot reported that the flight school maintains a "bounce and go" policy, so he applied full throttle and aborted the landing. The airplane continued to move left, and the nose landing gear collided with a snow berm located on the left side of the runway. Subsequently, the airplane nosed over.
Damage
The accident resulted in substantial damage to the left wing of the airplane. The student pilot stated that there were no mechanical malfunctions or failures with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.
