What happened
On March 24, 2019, an IndiGo Airbus A320 was operating a flight from Amritsar, India, to Guwahati, India. During the enroute phase of the flight, the flight crew received an intermittent ECAM caution indicating high vibration in the No. 2 (right) engine. The engine, which is a Pratt & Whitney PW1127G-JM geared turbofan, continued to operate, and the crew did not shut the engine down.
Following the landing, an inspection of the No. 2 engine was performed. This inspection revealed damage to the blades on the high pressure compressor stages 7 and 8 of the aircraft, registration VT-ITJ.
