Accident Details
During the landing roll, the student pilot applied brakes, but the airplane began to veer to the left. The pilot corrected with right rudder, but the airplane exited the runway to the left and subsequently nosed over.
Aircraft Damage
The airplane sustained substantial damage to the left wing and rudder.
Pilot Report
The student pilot reported that there were no preimpact mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.
Weather Conditions
At the time of the accident, the automated weather reporting station located on the airport reported wind from 220° at 5 knots. The student pilot was landing the airplane on runway 24.
