Incident Details
According to the pilot's report, after touchdown during the landing roll, the airplane entered a ground loop and veered to the right. The pilot applied corrective control inputs, including left aileron and rudder, but the airplane continued its rightward path, departing the runway surface. It subsequently rolled over a snowbank and touched down hard again on the terrain.
Damage Assessment
The accident resulted in substantial damage to the left-wing rib. No other damage was reported.
Pilot Statement
The pilot stated that there were no preaccident mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.
