Accident Details
According to the pilot, the aircraft initially touched down to the left of the runway centerline. While rolling out, the pilot applied right rudder to steer the aircraft back toward the centerline. However, directional control was lost, and the aircraft exited the right side of the runway.
Once off the runway surface, the main landing gear encountered wet dirt on the right side. This caused the aircraft to nosed over. The resulting impact and forces inflicted substantial damage to the vertical stabilizer and the right-wing lift-strut.
The pilot reported that no mechanical malfunctions or failures were present with the aircraft that would have precluded normal operation.
