Accident Overview
A multi-engine airplane sustained substantial damage during a landing incident at an airport. The pilot reported that, while landing in gusty wind conditions, the aircraft bounced several times. During the final bounce, the nose landing gear and the right main landing gear collapsed. The airplane then veered to the right, departed the runway, and came to a stop on the adjacent grass.
Damage and Mechanical Status
Substantial damage was noted to the fuselage and the right wing. The pilot stated that there were no preaccident mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.
Weather Conditions
The airport's automated weather observation station reported that around the time of the accident, the wind was from 260 degrees at 11 knots, gusting to 16 knots. The pilot conducted the landing on runway 24.
