NTSB Assists Mexico in 2019 Piper PA25 Accident Investigation

Incident Notification and International Cooperation On September 5, 2019, a Piper PA25 aircraft was involved in an accident in Mexico. The Mexican government formally notified the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of the incident. In accordance with international aviation safety protocols, the NTSB appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to support the Mexican government’s investigation. This collaboration was conducted under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13, which governs the investigation of international aviation accidents. All investigative information and final findings are to be released exclusively by the government of Mexico.
