Accident Overview
A pilot reported that during landing on a private dirt airstrip, the airplane touched down approximately mid-field. The airstrip was 1,900 feet in length. The aircraft overran the end of the runway and subsequently collided with a drainage culvert.
Damage
The collision resulted in substantial damage to the left wing of the airplane.
Pilot Reporting
After the accident, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigator-in-charge (IIC) made multiple attempts to contact the pilot via email and telephone to obtain a completed NTSB Form 6120.1. Despite these efforts, the pilot did not submit the required form.
Mechanical Condition
The pilot stated that there were no mechanical malfunctions or failures with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.
Findings
