The Colombian government notified the NTSB of an accident involving a PIPER PA31, registration HK-5229, which took place on September 15, 2019, in Popayan, Colombia. The accident resulted in 7 fatalities and 2 serious injuries.
Under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13, the NTSB appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist the Colombian government's investigation. All investigative details are being released by the Colombian authorities.
