What happened

On May 25, 2019, an incident occurred at Leszno Airport (EPLS) involving a Jak-12 M aircraft. Following an engine test conducted behind a hangar, the pilot began taxiing toward the first row of gliders with the intention of performing a glider tow.

During the taxiing maneuver, approximately 50 meters from the starting point, the aircraft collided with a stationary vehicle. The vehicle, which is used for towing gliders, had recently passed to the right of the aircraft's path and stopped in front of runway 24 to allow a landing Cessna aircraft to pass. The driver of the vehicle observed the approaching aircraft in the rearview mirror just before the impact occurred.
