Incident Notification
On January 22, 2020, an accident involving a Piper PA-28 aircraft occurred within the jurisdiction of Switzerland. In accordance with international aviation safety protocols, the government of Switzerland formally notified the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) regarding this event.
International Cooperation
To facilitate the inquiry, the NTSB designated a U.S. Accredited Representative to support the lead investigation conducted by Swiss authorities. This collaboration is executed under the specific provisions outlined in ICAO Annex 13, which governs the international cooperation framework for civil aviation accident investigations.

The government of Switzerland retains full authority over the dissemination of investigative data. Consequently, all official reports and findings related to this incident will be published exclusively by Swiss regulatory bodies.
