The NTSB has appointed a representative to assist Costa Rican authorities in investigating an incident involving an American Airlines Boeing 757.
On February 9, 2020, an incident occurred involving a Boeing 757-2B7, registration N200UU, operated by American Airlines. The Consejo Technico de Aviacion Civil (CTAC) of Costa Rica notified the NTSB of the event.
Following the notification from the Costa Rican aviation authority, the NTSB appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist with the investigation under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13, acting as the State of Manufacturer and Design for the aircraft.
