Accident Overview
A student pilot conducting her first solo flight was involved in an accident during landing. The landing sequence involved multiple bounces, which ultimately caused structural damage to the airplane.
Sequence of Events
The student pilot executed a landing that resulted in a bounce, during which the stall horn sounded. The airplane then bounced three additional times. On the final bounce, the nose wheel collapsed, and the left wing made contact with the ground. This contact caused substantial damage to the engine mount and the left wing.
Pilot Statement
The student pilot reported that there were no mechanical deficiencies that would have precluded normal operation of the airplane or its engine prior to the accident. She also stated that the accident could have been prevented if she had executed a go-around.
