Accident Notification
The government of Namibia has notified the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of an accident involving a Rotorcraft Development Corporation UH1-D helicopter. The aircraft, registered as V5-HOZ, was involved in an occurrence on March 24, 2020.
International Investigation
In accordance with the provisions of ICAO Annex 13, the NTSB has appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist the government of Namibia in the investigation of the accident. The representative will provide support as requested by the Namibian authorities.
Information Release
All investigative information and findings will be released by the government of Namibia, which is leading the investigation. The NTSB will not release additional details until the Namibian investigation is complete or as authorized by the government of Namibia.
