What happened
On April 25, 2020, a Aeronca 7AC was performing a landing roll on a private, uncharted grass airfield in Enosburg, Vermont. During the landing roll, the main landing gear of the aircraft N83216 dug into an area of soft grass, causing the airplane to nose over. The pilot was not injured.
The aircraft sustained substantial damage to the right-wing lift strut. Weather conditions at the time were visual meteorological conditions (VMC) with a visibility of 10 statute miles and winds from 310 degrees at 5 knots.
