What happened
On June 8, 2020, a solo student pilot was operating a Cessna 172, registration N92356, in Lubbock, Texas. During the landing phase of the flight, the aircraft experienced a hard landing. Following the impact, the pilot was able to taxi the airplane to the ramp without any further incidents.
As a result of the landing, the forward fuselage of the aircraft, located aft of the firewall, sustained substantial damage. There were no injuries reported in the event. The weather at the time was reported as VMC with a visibility of 10 statute miles and winds from 200 degrees at 12 knots.
