Incident Summary
On 19 July 2020, a Diamond DA20-C1 aircraft, registration SP-KWH, was involved in an incident at the EPMO aerodrome. After takeoff, while near the CTR boundary in the direction of Serock, the pilot observed a decrease in oil pressure. The pilot decided not to continue the flight and returned to the departure airport. The landing was performed on Runway 08 without any issues. The malfunction was recorded in the aircraft's technical log (PDT).
Findings
The cause of the incident was identified as a malfunction of the exhaust gas temperature (EGT) probe. No contributing circumstances were determined.
Safety Recommendations
The investigating body proposed preventive measures: the EGT probe was replaced, and the incident was discussed with the pilot immediately after the event. The incident was also described in the safety bulletin "KRONIKA SMS" issue 07/2020. No additional safety recommendations were formulated by the commission.
