On October 26, 2024, at approximately 14:40 CDT, a Cessna 182Q, registration N8883X, was involved in a ground accident near Rose Hill, Kansas. The aircraft was being operated as a Part 91 skydiving flight.

The pilot had completed six skydive jumps earlier that morning. While the aircraft was parked with the engine running in preparation for a seventh flight, a passenger acting as a photographer was seated in the rear of the plane. As the passenger exited the aircraft and moved into position to photograph approaching skydivers, she backed into the rotating propeller.
