What happened
On September 4, 2025, a Tecnam P200 and8, registration SP-ZIP, was engaged in a PPL(A) flight training mission. The flight originated from EPBY and proceeded normally until the aircraft arrived at EPGI (Lisie Kąty) for a touch-and-go landing maneuver. During the maneuver, the student pilot touched down halfway down the runway. While the pilot moved the flaps to the takeoff position, the throttle was not advanced to full takeoff power.
As the aircraft attempted to depart, the instructor took control of the aircraft and applied full power. However, due to a high angle of attack, the aircraft experienced a loss of lateral stability and entered a stall. The aircraft subsequently struck the grassy surface with significant force, causing the nose gear to collapse. The aircraft came to rest supported by its nose and left wing, resulting in substantial damage to the airframe and the powerplant.
The investigation
The PKBWL examined the sequence of events surrounding the touch-and-go maneuver and the subsequent recovery attempt. The investigation focused on the pilot's actions during the transition from landing to takeoff and the instructor's intervention during the critical phase of the flight.
