What happened
On May 30, 2025, at approximately 16:27 CDT, a Piper PA-32RT-300T, registration N130XR, was conducting a personal flight under Part 91 regulations when it experienced multiple engine failures near Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The flight proceeded without incident until the pilot began the approach to land at Tulsa International Airport (TUL). During this phase, the pilot reduced engine power, which resulted in a total loss of engine power. In response, the pilot switched from the right to the left fuel tank, activated the electric fuel pump, and followed emergency checklist procedures. These actions restored engine power, allowing the aircraft to climb approximately 100 feet.
As the pilot attempted to continue the approach, a second complete loss of engine power occurred on short final after power was again reduced. The pilot subsequently executed a forced landing in a field. During the descent, the aircraft struck powerlines and impacted a roadway.
The accident resulted in one serious injury to the pilot and one minor injury to the pilot-rated passenger. The aircraft sustained substantial damage to the fuselage and both wings.
