What happened

On June 10, 2025, at approximately 12:20 central daylight time, a Beech A36, registration N15PM, was involved in an accident near Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The aircraft was operating as a private flight under 14 CFR Part 91, traveling from Douglas Municipal Airport (DQH) in Douglas, Florida, to Murfreesboro Municipal Airport (MBT).

During the flight, the pilot experienced a partial loss of engine power. In response to the engine stumbling, the pilot switched the fuel source from the left tank to the right tank and advanced the mixture control, which temporarily resolved the issue. However, the engine subsequently lost power again, prompting the pilot to declare an emergency. Realizing the aircraft could not reach MBT, the pilot attempted a forced landing in a field. Upon determining the field was unreachable, the pilot attempted to maneuver toward a cemetery.
