Incident Details

On 15 May 2025, a training flight was scheduled with an IAR-46S aircraft, registration YR-BVD, departing from Clinceni aerodrome. The mission included performing landing procedures at Bucharest Băneasa Airport and returning to Clinceni. The aircraft completed four touch-and-go landings on runway 07 at Băneasa. During the fifth landing, upon touchdown, the main landing gear retracted unintentionally. The aircraft made contact with the runway on its ventral side, the rear part of the flaps, and both propeller blades, and came to a stop on runway 07.
