Accident Details

On January 13, 2026, at about 0624 mountain standard time, a Fairchild SA227-AC airplane, registration N370AE, sustained substantial damage during a runway excursion at Prescott Municipal Airport (PRC) in Prescott, Arizona. The pilot, who was the sole occupant, reported no injuries. The flight was conducted as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 135 positioning flight.

Occurrence Sequence

The pilot began the takeoff roll on Runway 3R, bound for Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (KPHX). According to the pilot, during a normal takeoff roll, as the aircraft accelerated through approximately 50 knots, the airplane began to veer left. It subsequently departed the left side of the runway, entering the runway safety area. The airplane then crossed a taxiway before the pilot maneuvered it back onto the runway and brought it to a stop. During the excursion, the airplane collided with runway edge lights and a taxiway sign, resulting in substantial damage to the fuselage.
