Event History
On March 15, 2026, at approximately 19:00 local time, a Dudek Nucleon WRC Cabrio 42 motoparapanta departed from a flying field near Olosig, Bihor County, for a pleasure flight with two persons on board—a pilot and a passenger. The takeoff and initial part of the flight proceeded normally until, while executing a left turn, the aircraft suddenly lost altitude and struck the ground. The impact occurred on vacant land near Olosig at coordinates 47°20'31.39"N, 022°10'26.66"E. Both occupants died as a result of the impact.
Aircraft Information
The aircraft involved was an ultra-light powered motoparapanta consisting of a Dudek Nucleon WRC Cabrio 42 wing, serial number P-165861, and a trike frame with no serial number. No registration markings were found on the aircraft.
Investigation
The Romanian Aircraft Accident Investigation Authority (AIAS) deployed a team to the accident site. Initial activities included the recovery of the wing, video and photographic documentation of the wreckage, an interview with a witness, and collection of preliminary information. The investigation is ongoing; the wing will be sent to an authorized center for detailed analysis. The probable cause will be published in the final report on the AIAS website.
