What happened
On August 5, 2025, at approximately 10:44 local time, an Airbus AS 350 B3 helicopter was engaged in a heliski operation in the mountainous region of Valle Nevado, Lo Barnechea. The flight, which included a commercial pilot and three passengers, was maneuvering to approach a specific landing site to disembark the passengers. During this approach, the aircraft made contact with the terrain, ultimately coming to a rest on a mountain slope at an elevation of 3,670 meters (12,040 feet).
All four occupants—the pilot and the three passengers—remained uninjured following the impact. While the aircraft sustained damage, the crew and passengers were able to exit the vehicle without medical emergency.
