Overview
On December 5, 2025, at 18:30 local time, a paraglider (ultralight non-motorized aircraft) impacted terrain in the Palo Buque sector, Iquique commune, Tarapacá Region, Chile. The pilot, a student ultralight non-motorized pilot, was flying recreationally. As a result of the impact, the pilot was fatally injured at the scene. The paraglider was not damaged.
