Event Details
On 4 July 2025, a LAK-17C FES glider, registration D-KBBJ, was in flight when difficulties arose with the propeller and the front electric sustainer. The pilot was unable to stop the propeller and could not start the electric sustainer. These malfunctions occurred during the flight.
Landing and Damage
During the subsequent landing, the glider spun around its vertical axis. The aircraft sustained severe damage as a result of the landing sequence.
Injuries
The pilot was not injured in the occurrence.
Investigation
The German Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation (Bundesstelle für Flugunfalluntersuchung) has not initiated a safety investigation in accordance with Paragraph 5 of Article 5 of Regulation (EU) No 996/2010.
