What happened
On 4 May 2016, a Bell 206 B helicopter, operated by Highland Helicopters, was conducting scanning operations over a logged area located approximately 112 nm northwest of Prince George, British Columbia. During the flight, the aircraft began a right-hand spin and subsequently descended into the ground.
Following the impact, the aircraft was destroyed. The pilot sustained injuries, while the two passengers on board appeared to have no injuries. All three occupants were transported to a hospital in Fort St. James, British Columbia. No fire occurred after the impact.
The investigation
The TSB deployed a team of investigators to the site to gather information and assess the circumstances surrounding the accident.
