Occurrence
On May 4, 2016, a Bell 206 B helicopter operated by Highland Helicopters departed Williams Lake (CYWL), British Columbia, for a scanning mission over a logged area. Approximately 112 nautical miles northwest of Prince George, British Columbia, the helicopter entered a right spin and descended into the ground.
The helicopter was destroyed upon impact, and no post-impact fire occurred. The pilot sustained injuries, while the two passengers appeared to have no injuries. All three occupants were transported to a hospital in Fort St. James, British Columbia.
Investigation
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) conducted a class 4 investigation, which is limited in scope and does not include findings or recommendations. The investigation gathered information and assessed the occurrence.
No probable cause for the accident was determined as part of this investigation.
