What happened
On May 1, 2024, a De Havilland Dash 8 operated by PAL Airlines Ltd. was performing a charter service originating from Halifax/Stanfield International Airport in Nova Scotia. Upon arrival at St. John's International Airport in Newfoundland and Labrador, the aircraft failed to stop within the runway limits, resulting in an overrun of the end of Runway 10.
Following the excursion, the flight crew contacted air traffic control to request emergency assistance. Aircraft rescue and firefighting services were dispatched to the scene and arrived shortly after the incident.
The investigation
The TSB investigation focused on the circumstances surrounding the aircraft's departure from the runway. The investigation confirmed that the aircraft sustained minimal damage during the event and that there were no injuries to the occupants.

- The aircraft overran the end of Runway 10 during its landing roll at St. John's International Airport.
