Occurrence
On 01 May 2024, a De Havilland Dash 8 aircraft, operated by PAL Airlines Ltd., was conducting a charter flight from Halifax/Stanfield International Airport, Nova Scotia. After landing at St. John's International Airport, Newfoundland and Labrador, the aircraft overran the end of Runway 10.
Response
The flight crew notified air traffic control that they needed assistance, and aircraft rescue and firefighting services responded shortly thereafter.
Damage and Injuries
There was minimal damage to the aircraft, and no injuries were reported.
Investigation
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) is investigating the occurrence as a class 3 investigation. Class 3 investigations analyze a small number of safety issues and may result in recommendations. They are generally completed within 450 days.
