Incident Overview
On 22 June 2024, at 5:05 PM local time, a Boeing 737-400SF cargo aircraft operated by K-Mile Air Company Limited, bearing registration HS-KMB, departed from Suvarnabhumi Airport in Thailand, bound for Singapore Changi Airport. While climbing through flight level 250, the crew encountered a pressurisation system malfunction. In response, the pilots deployed their oxygen masks and initiated a return to Suvarnabhumi Airport, landing safely at 6:10 PM. No injuries to persons or damage to the aircraft were noted.
Classification and Investigation
The event was classified as a serious incident under the occurrence category of System/Component Failure or Malfunction (Non-powerplant). The Aircraft Accident Investigation Committee for the Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation Commission Thailand is conducting the investigation. Notifications were sent to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of the United States, as the state of aircraft design and manufacture, and to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The investigation remains in progress; the final report and determination of the cause are pending publication.
