Synopsis
On 28 October 2019 at 09:00 p.m. local time, an Airbus A350-900 aircraft, registration HS-THG, operated by Thai Airways International Public Company Limited as flight TG466 from Melbourne Airport to Suvarnabhumi Airport, experienced a serious incident. The flight carried 315 people, including crew and passengers.
Sequence of Events
While landing on Suvarnabhumi Airport's runway 01R, the pilot performed a go-around due to weather conditions. Following the go-around, the fuel quantity approached the final reserve fuel level. Consequently, the pilot declared an emergency with the call "Mayday Fuel." The aircraft subsequently landed at Suvarnabhumi Airport, and the state of emergency was cancelled at 09:12 p.m.
Outcome
There were no injuries or fatalities, and the aircraft was not damaged.
Investigation Status
The Aircraft Accident Investigation Committee for the Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation Commission Thailand is conducting the investigation. Notification of the incident was sent to the French Republic, as the state of aircraft design and manufacture, and to the International Civil Aviation Organization. The final report, including the cause of the serious incident and preventive measures, is pending publication.
