Incident Overview
On 4 May 2022 at 12:43 p.m., an Airbus A320-216 aircraft, registration HS-BBI, operated by Thai AirAsia Company Limited as flight FD3141, landed on an unassigned runway at Don Mueang International Airport, Thailand. The flight had originated from Ranong Airport and was carrying 6 crew members and 166 passengers. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and the aircraft sustained no damage.
Investigation Status
The serious incident is being investigated by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Committee for the Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation Commission (AAIC) of Thailand. A notification was sent to the Bureau of Enquiry and Analysis for Civil Aviation Safety of the French Republic, as the state of aircraft design and manufacture, and to the International Civil Aviation Organization.
Next Steps
The final report of the investigation is expected to be published and will include the cause of the serious incident. The AAIC will recommend preventive measures to domestic and international aviation authorities. If immediate action is required during the investigation, necessary measures will be taken to ensure flight safety. The investigation is currently in the correspondence for comments phase.
