What happened
During the final approach phase of flight toward Inverness Airport, a twin engine aircraft experienced a loss of control. The aircraft descended into a field situated approximately a few hundred yards before reaching the runway threshold.
There was only one person on board at the time of the accident. The pilot was the sole occupant of the aircraft and sustained fatal injuries during the impact. No other individuals were involved in the incident.
Findings
The investigation into the crash focused on the period leading up to the loss of control while the aircraft was maneuvering for landing. The aircraft struck the ground short of the destination runway.
