What happened
On a cargo mission from Entebbe Airport to Kinshasa, an unspecified aircraft departed at 11:48 local time. The flight was transporting a diverse cargo load, including 10 tons of beans, various clothing items, and two automobiles. The aircraft was operated by a crew of six.
Shortly after the departure, approximately five minutes into the flight, the crew notified Air Traffic Control that an engine had ignited. In response to this emergency, the crew received clearance to perform an emergency return to the departure airport. However, seven minutes after the initial takeoff, the aircraft lost control and descended into a forested region near Bukalaza, situated roughly 11 km from the airport. The impact caused the aircraft to break apart, and there were six fatalities among the occupants.
