Incident Overview
A four-engine cargo aircraft departed Pointe-Noire Airport at 0400 local time for a scheduled cargo flight to Brazzaville. On board were five crew members and one passenger. The cargo consisted of food supplies, one minibus, and three cars.
Approach and Crash
During the final approach to Brazzaville-Maya Maya Airport under night conditions, at an altitude of approximately 2,000 feet, the aircraft lost control. It subsequently crashed near the village of Nganga Lingolo, located 11 kilometers short of runway 05.
Damage and Fatalities
The impact and ensuing fire totally destroyed the aircraft. All six occupants—five crew and one passenger—were killed. No survivors were reported.
