Shortly after departing from Tamanrasset-Aguenar-Hadj Bey Akhamok Airport, the aircraft disappeared from radio communications. Approximately three minutes after takeoff, the flight was lost. The wreckage was located a few hours after the disappearance in a mountainous region situated roughly 15 km south of the airport. The impact and subsequent fire destroyed the aircraft, and all seven crew members were killed in the accident.
