What happened
On the runway 27 at Keperveyem Airport, a four-engine aircraft experienced a loss of control during its takeoff roll. The aircraft began to deviate toward the left side of the runway, eventually exiting the paved surface. As the plane veered off, the landing gear was stripped from the airframe. The aircraft continued to slide for a total distance of 880 metres, eventually coming to a halt approximately 120 metres to the left of the runway centerline.
Despite the severity of the excursion, all 8 occupants on board managed to exit the aircraft without sustaining any injuries. The impact and subsequent slide caused extensive damage to the airframe, rendering the four-engine aircraft a total loss as it was deemed beyond economical repair.
Findings
- The aircraft experienced a leftward deviation during the takeoff phase.
- The excursion resulted in the separation of the undercarriage from the aircraft.
