What happened
A charter flight operated by the Maniema Union Company crashed in a mountainous region approximately 30 minutes after departing from Goma. The flight was scheduled to travel to Kongolo, with a planned intermediate stop in Kindu. On board the aircraft were 22 passengers and five crew members.
Following the disappearance of the flight, wreckage was located the next day at a distance of roughly 10 km from Biega. The impact resulted in 27 fatalities, with no survivors reported among the passengers or the crew.
