What happened
During the final approach phase at Saurimo Airport, the flight crew encountered an obstruction on the runway in the form of a vehicle. In response to this hazard, the captain executed a go-around procedure. To facilitate the climb, the crew applied additional engine power; however, the aircraft failed to arrest its descent and made contact with the runway surface shortly after passing the threshold.
Following the initial impact with the ground, the aircraft lost stability and moved out of control across the area. The collision resulted in a post-crash fire that consumed the wreckage. The accident resulted in one fatality and nine injuries among the occupants on board.
