What happened
During an official visit to Vietnam by the Algerian President, Houari Boumediene, a flight transporting a delegation of media professionals met with a fatal accident. The aircraft was performing its approach to Hanoi Airport when it crashed, leading to the total destruction of the airframe.
There were 18 fatalities in total among the occupants of the aircraft. The passenger manifest included 15 journalists from various Algerian news agencies, including members of Algerian television and the APS news agency, alongside the flight crew.

The specific reason for the crash remains undetermined, as the cause of the impact during the approach phase was not established following the destruction of the aircraft.
