Accident Overview
An aircraft returning from a mission to deliver election equipment and materials to Tshikapa on behalf of the Independent National Election Commission crashed while on approach to Kinshasa-N'Djili Airport. All seven occupants were killed.
Sequence of Events
The flight had originated from Kinshasa and transported election supplies to Tshikapa. After unloading, the crew began the return leg. En route, air traffic control cleared the aircraft to descend to 5,000 feet for an approach to runway 06 at Kinshasa-N'Djili Airport. While descending, the aircraft encountered deteriorating weather conditions, including rainfall, which significantly reduced visibility. In these conditions, the aircraft collided with hilly terrain located approximately 35 kilometers west of the airport. The impact occurred at an unknown time; the wreckage was discovered a few hours later.
Aftermath
Search teams located the wreckage on the hillside. All seven individuals aboard the aircraft were confirmed dead.
