What happened
The incident occurred shortly after the aircraft departed from Zonal'noye Airport while conducting a local skydiving mission. During this initial phase of flight, the engine ignited, prompting the crew to reduce altitude and initiate an emergency landing procedure.
The pilot guided the machine into an open field situated approximately 2 kilometers from the airport perimeter. Upon impact, the airframe burst into flames. Despite the destruction of the aircraft by fire, all eight occupants survived the event without sustaining any injuries.
The group consisted of five paratrooper firefighters assigned to the Sakhalin Air Base, two pilots, and one observer. All individuals successfully evacuated the burning wreckage unharmed.
