What happened
During a humanitarian mission conducted for the United Nations, an aircraft carrying a mix of cargo and personnel experienced a critical failure during its landing sequence. The flight was transporting 28 passengers and 4 crew members, along with various supplies, when the incident occurred.
As the aircraft was on short final approach at a low altitude, the nose of the plane suddenly dipped. This maneuver caused the aircraft to strike the ground a short distance before reaching the runway threshold. Following the initial impact, the aircraft lost stability and continued to slide, coming to a final position several dozen meters beyond the initial impact site.
Outcomes
- One fatality was recorded among the passengers.
- Fifteen injuries were sustained by the occupants.
- 16 individuals on board escaped the wreckage without injury.
The aircraft nosed down during the final approach phase.
