What happened
Upon completing the landing phase on runway 06 at Iquitos-Coronel Francisco Secada Vignetta Airport, the aircraft experienced a loss of directional control. Following touchdown, the plane drifted toward the left side of the runway, eventually exiting the paved surface. During the excursion, the aircraft struck various trees and vegetation located adjacent to the runway.
The impact with the surrounding environment caused the aircraft to break into two separate pieces and resulted in the loss of the right wing. The wreckage came to a final position approximately 100 meters to the left of the runway centerline. Although a fire ignited following the impact, the flames were suppressed shortly after the incident.
Findings
- The aircraft sustained total destruction during the event.
- There were four crew members on board, all of whom sustained slight injuries.
- The primary cause of the wreckage separation was the impact with trees and bushes after the aircraft left the runway.
