What happened
During a routine charter operation departing from La Pedrera, the flight crew began their approach to Tarapacá Airfield. Upon landing on runway 25, the aircraft lost directional control immediately following touchdown. The movement caused the plane to veer toward the right side of the runway.
As the aircraft exited the paved surface, it encountered soft terrain. The plane rolled for several dozen meters before eventually becoming immobilized in the mud. Despite the severity of the excursion, all 45 occupants were able to evacuate the aircraft without injury. The incident resulted in the aircraft being declared a total loss due to damage sustained during the event.
Findings
- The aircraft veered off the runway immediately after touchdown.
- The presence of soft ground caused the plane to become stuck in mud after rolling off the runway surface.
