What happened
During a local training mission, an aircraft departed from Croydon Airport and subsequently encountered unfavorable weather conditions. While operating the flight, the pilot attempted to descend to a lower altitude in an effort to regain visual contact with the ground.
During this descent, the aircraft type collided with trees located in a wooded region near Titsey Hill, situated approximately 7 miles southeast of the departure airport. The impact resulted in a crash within the forested area.
Findings
Emergency responders managed to rescue two crew members from the wreckage. However, the accident resulted in two fatalities among the occupants. The sequence of events indicates that the pilot's decision to reduce altitude to maintain visual reference led to the collision with the treeline.
