What happened

On a flight traveling through the region of Halfmoon Bay, a twin engine aircraft was cruising at an altitude of approximately 1,800 feet when it struck the slope of a mountain. The impact occurred while the aircraft was in the cruise phase of flight.

Following the accident, the wreckage remained undiscovered for several days. It was eventually located by the crew of an RCAF helicopter three days after the initial event. Search and rescue teams were able to reach the crash site on December 9.
